Jaylaxmi Engineering Works

Our workshop, Jaylaxmi Engineering Works, is located inside Mahavir Estate on S V Road. If you know the N M Joshi Marg area, we are in the Clipwala Compound part of it. It is an industrial spot, so there is always a lot of noise from machines and trucks moving around. We spend our time working with metal and various engine parts. The floor is usually covered in some oil or iron shavings because that is just how engineering shops are. We have a few lathes and some welding equipment that we use every day. Most of the work we do is for other local businesses or people who need a specific part fixed or fabricated. It is not clean work and our clothes usually have grease on them by noon. The compound can be a bit tricky to find if you are not from around here. We have been in this same spot for a long time. We do not have a fancy office or any air conditioning, just the big fans on the ceiling that try to keep the heat down. People bring us drawings or sometimes just a broken piece of metal and ask us to make a new one. We just get on with the job and try to finish it as the schedule allows. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to wait, but usually, it is just steady work from morning until we close the shutters at night.
