Jayantilal J. Gandhi Chemicals Pvt. Ltd. has its home at 40-42, Udyog Bhawan, right on Sonawala Lane in Goregaon East. Being in an industrial area like this means there is always the sound of trucks and the smell of various materials in the air. We have been in this building for quite some time, and it feels like the walls have a lot of history. The space is spread out across two units, which helps because we have a lot of stuff to keep track of. It isn't a quiet place by any means, especially with the Goregaon station being so close and the constant flow of workers in the lane. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking the stock levels in the back. Our desks are usually covered in ledger books and old folders because we still like having things on paper. Most of the staff have been here for years, so we all know how each other takes their coffee. It is a very practical environment where the focus is on the inventory and making sure the deliveries are on time. The lift in the building is old and slow, so we often just take the stairs if we are in a hurry. We don't worry about looking like a modern tech startup. We are just an old-school chemical business trying to keep things running smoothly in the middle of a very busy Mumbai suburb.
