We are located in the Sahyadri Co Operative Housing Society on Sonawala Road. Jay Prakash Restaurant And Bar is right opposite the Goregaon East railway station, so it stays very busy all the time. Being so close to a station in Mumbai means there is never really a quiet moment during the day. We get people coming in straight after getting off the train, looking to sit down and relax for a bit. I have been working here for many years. The place has a certain look to it—it is not modern or stylish, but it is comfortable for the regular people who come here. We serve food and we have the bar side as well. It gets quite loud in the evenings with everyone talking over each other after a long day. I spend most of my shift making sure the orders go out fast because everyone is usually in a hurry to get home to their families. The street outside is always packed with rickshaws and people walking everywhere. Sometimes it feels a bit overwhelming, but you eventually get used to the rhythm of the city. We do not have a website or any marketing. We just open the doors and people walk in. It is a straightforward business. We keep the drinks cold and the food coming out of the kitchen.
