Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre

Being situated on Pedder Road at No. 15 Dr. Deshmukh Marg means we are right in the thick of things. Traffic outside is usually a mess, especially during rush hour, but inside we just keep doing what needs to be done. Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre isn't some new, shiny glass box; it's a building that has worked hard for years. You can tell by the floors and the way the walls look. We have nurses who have been here for decades and they know every corner of this place. The research centre part of our name means there are scientists around too, doing their thing in the labs while the rest of us handle the day-to-day patient care. It’s a big mix of people. We don’t spend much time on fancy brochures or trying to sound like a big corporation. Most of our day is just spent checking charts, talking to families, and making sure the equipment is running right. The neighborhood is upscale but our work is very down-to-earth. Sometimes the monsoon rain hits the windows hard, and we all just keep working. It’s a solid place. We aren't trying to be anything other than a hospital that people can find when they need one. It gets loud and it gets busy, but we’re used to it by now. We just carry on with the work at hand every day.
