Jai Glass Works

Jai Glass Works is on the second floor of Parekh Market, which is right on M.G. Road. If you know that area, you know how loud and busy it gets every single day. Being on the second floor means we are constantly carrying glass sheets up and down the stairs, which is never fun. You have to be really careful not to knock into anyone on the sidewalk or chip the edges on the way up. The shop at 201 is basically filled from floor to ceiling with glass of all different thicknesses. It’s a bit of a maze inside, and you have to watch where you step. We’ve been here for years, and the market has changed a lot around us, but we just keep doing what we do. It’s a dusty place because of the cutting and grinding, so we are always cleaning up shards and fine powder. We don't have a big sales team; usually, it’s just someone in an apron answering the door. The building itself is old, and the stairs are a bit steep, but it’s a good spot for being in the middle of the action. People come to us when they need something specific for a window or a frame. We don't promise anything fancy, we just cut the glass to the size people ask for and hope the traffic on M.G. Road isn't too bad when we deliver it to the customer's site.
