You can find Jai Ambe Transport over in the Chembur area, specifically in the New Cloth Market section. We’re right opposite the HP Refinery, so you can’t really miss the location with all the big industrial stuff around. Transport is a tough business, especially in a city like this. Our days start early, usually before the sun is even up, getting the trucks ready and checking the logs. Being near the cloth market means there’s always something moving. We deal with a lot of heavy lifting and scheduling. It’s not a clean office job. There is always grease, dust, and the smell of diesel in the air. We keep our paperwork in a small office that usually has a fan running full speed to deal with the heat. We don’t have a big corporate structure. It’s just us, the drivers, and the loaders making sure stuff gets from one point to another. The refinery across the road is like a landmark for us. We’ve seen the traffic patterns change over the years, especially with the new flyovers and road works. We just focus on the work at hand. If a truck is delayed, we’re on the phone trying to figure it out. It’s practical, everyday work. We don't use fancy words to describe it. We just move goods. Most of our afternoon is spent drinking tea and waiting for the loading to finish. It is a loud environment but we are used to it by now. There are stacks of transport bills on the table most days.
