Jagjivanram Hospital

Our location for Jagjivanram Hospital is on Maratha Mandir Road in Mumbai Central. It’s one of those parts of the city that never really sleeps. You can hear the trains from the station nearby and the constant honking of the taxis outside. Inside the hospital, things are just as active. We have a lot of wards and rooms that stay full most of the time. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the elevators are a bit slow, but they get everyone where they need to go eventually. Working here means getting used to the heat and the constant movement. I usually start my day by checking the rosters and seeing which departments are the busiest. We have a lot of staff who have been here for decades, and they have so many stories about how the hospital used to look years ago. It’s a practical place, built to handle a lot of people at once. We don't spend much time on decorations or making things look fancy because we are too busy with the patients. The waiting areas are always packed, and there’s a specific smell of medicine and old stone that stays with you. Even when it’s raining hard during the monsoon, the people keep coming in. It’s a grit-and-grind kind of place, and we just keep pushing through the day to get the work done here on Maratha Mandir Road.
