Operating J R C Logistics out of Shop No 22 in the L S Yadav Compound is an experience. Jogeshwari East is a crowded place, and being in Gopi Estate means there are always vehicles moving around. We are right opposite the Hindu Samsan Bhumi, which serves as the best landmark for anyone trying to find us. It’s a gritty, hardworking part of town. Our shop is small, mostly serving as a base where we handle the scheduling and the paperwork for the trucks. There is always a smell of diesel and old tires in the air around the compound. We spend most of our day talking to drivers and making sure the loads are secured. It’s a lot of physical work and shouting over the engine noise. The office inside the shop has a couple of chairs that have seen better days and a ceiling fan that wobbles a bit. We don't have fancy uniforms or a lobby. You just come in, tell us what needs moving, and we figure out a way to get it there. It’s a tough business and the traffic in Jogeshwari doesn't make it any easier, but we’ve been here long enough to know all the shortcuts. Sometimes we sit outside on plastic stools when the sun goes down, just watching the gate. It's basic, honest work in a busy compound. We don't really do much advertising because our neighbors already know where to find us.
