J P Printer is located in Gala Number 9 within the Chunilal Mehta Compound. We are over in the Byculla and Versova area, right near the Retiwala Industrial Estate. Our workspace is a typical industrial gala, which means it’s filled with the smell of ink and the sound of printing presses running. It’s not a quiet place, and there is usually some dust and paper scraps around, but that’s just the nature of the printing business. We’ve got different machines for various types of jobs scattered around the floor. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes, but we know exactly where everything is kept. The compound is always busy with other workshops and businesses, so there’s a lot of truck movement and people loading goods. We spend our time checking proofs and making sure the colors look right on the paper. It’s hands-on work and we often end the day with ink on our fingers. Being near the Retiwala Industrial Estate is handy because a lot of our supplies come from nearby. We don’t have a fancy storefront; you just come into the compound and find us in gala nine. It’s a practical, hardworking space where we just focus on getting the print jobs out the door. We’ve been here for a long time and have gotten used to the rhythm of the machines and the industrial setting of Byculla, just doing the work as it comes in.
