Our place is out in MIDC Ambad, near the Xlo Point. It's a busy industrial area, so there’s always trucks and noise around. Being at Plot No. 1/24 means we get a lot of workers from the nearby factories dropping off their grains. It's hot in the summer, especially with the machines running all day long. We don't have fancy air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that move the dusty air around. The work is repetitive but it’s steady. We start early to beat the worst of the heat. The floor is concrete and stays cool for a bit in the morning. We spend a lot of time lifting heavy sacks, so you don't really need to go to a gym. There's a lot of grease and flour around, it's just part of the job. We have been here for a good number of years now. We know most of the truck drivers who pass by. The mill itself is quite old but we keep it in good shape. Sometimes parts break and we have to spend the afternoon fixing things instead of grinding. It’s just how it goes in a place like this. We don’t have a big office or anything, just a small corner with a table and a chair where we keep the receipts. It’s a practical business for a practical neighborhood. We just hope the power stays on so we can finish the work and get everything bagged up properly.
