J. & J. Surgical Industries

We are located in the Old Sita Ram Building at number 200 on Shamaldas Gandhi Marg. It’s one of those older buildings with the high ceilings and the thick walls. You can tell it’s been there for a long time. J. & J. Surgical Industries has its office here and it’s a bit of a maze once you get inside. We have piles of catalogs and metal samples sitting on the wooden tables. The air always feels a bit dusty no matter how much we clean. We spend our days answering letters and checking the manufacturing schedules. The street outside is usually packed with people and delivery carts. Sometimes the noise from the market nearby gets so loud we have to close the heavy windows. Our office has those old-fashioned fans that spin slowly and click every few seconds. We don't have a lot of modern furniture. Most of it is heavy wood that has been here since the business started. We take turns going down to the street to get snacks in the afternoon. It’s a lot of manual work keeping the records straight because we still use a lot of paper ledgers along with the computer. The building has a lot of character even if the plumbing is a bit temperamental. We just keep doing things the way we always have because it works for us.
