You can find us at Shop No 2, right by the Mecca Masjid on Dinshah Master Road. We are in Jogeshwari East, not too far from Satelite Park. Working in transport means our phones are basically glued to our ears all day long. It's a lot of coordination and hoping the drivers don't get stuck in too much traffic, though in Mumbai, that's almost impossible. Iqbal Ahmed Transport Services is just a small setup. We have a few desks, some ledgers, and a lot of empty chai cups lying around. The office is right near the mosque, so we hear the calls to prayer throughout the day, which gives a nice rhythm to the work. It gets loud around here, especially with the Subhas area being so active. We handle a lot of different loads, moving things from one side of the city to the other. It’s not glamorous work. It’s mostly dealing with paperwork, checking routes, and talking to people on the loading docks. Sometimes things go wrong, a tire punctures or a road is closed, and we just have to figure it out on the fly. We’ve been in this spot for a good bit of time now, so the locals know us. We don’t have a fancy website or a marketing team. We just answer the phone and get the trucks moving. That is pretty much our whole day, every day, from start to finish.
