Indus Transport

Our office for Indus Transport is located at 11 Mulund West on Bhagwan Mahaveer Road. It’s a pretty straightforward setup we have here. There’s a main desk where we keep all the logs and a few chairs for drivers to sit on while they wait for their schedules. Bhagwan Mahaveer Road is a busy stretch, so there’s always the sound of horns and engines outside our window. We spend a lot of time on the phone or looking at the clipboard to see where the trucks are. The walls are mostly bare, except for a calendar and a map that’s starting to yellow at the edges. Mulund West is a good spot for us because it’s easy to get to the main routes from here. The floor is tile, but it’s mostly covered in scuff marks from all the boots coming in and out every day. We usually have a pot of tea going in the corner because the days can get long, especially when there are delays on the road. It’s not a fancy corporate office with carpets and glass walls. It’s just a place where work gets done and things move from one point to another. Sometimes the printer jams when we’re trying to finish the manifests, and we just have to give it a knock to get it going again. That’s just the way it is here, keeping things moving every single day through the city traffic.
