Indian Institute Of Packaging

The Indian Institute of Packaging is out here in the MIDC area of Andheri East. If you’ve spent any time in Mumbai, you know this part of town is all about industry and warehouses. Our place at E-2 is a bit like a mix between a school and a laboratory. We focus on everything related to how things are wrapped and shipped. You will see a lot of cardboard boxes, plastic films, and glass bottles being tested in different rooms. It is not a polished corporate office. It is more of a functional space where we get into the details of materials and strength. We have students coming through for training and professionals who need their packaging checked. The air here is often heavy because of the factories nearby, and the monsoon season makes everything a bit damp. We have a post box number, 9432, for all the mail that comes in from across the country. The staff here has been around for a long time, and we all know the best places to get a Vada Pav nearby. It is a busy atmosphere with a lot of movement. We do not spend much time on fancy talk. We just focus on whether a package will hold up or if it is going to fail. It is practical, everyday work that most people do not think about until they open a box at home.
