India Gelatine & Chemicals Ltd

Our office is on the 7th floor of Mittal Chambers, located at 228 Nariman Point. Being in Nariman Point means we are in the heart of the business district, but our day-to-day life is much more ordinary than the address might suggest. We spend most of our time at room 77, dealing with the gelatine and chemicals business. The view from the 7th floor is okay, but we are usually too busy looking at spreadsheets and shipping documents to notice it. The elevators in this building are always busy, so you have to leave a few minutes early if you want to get anywhere on time. Our office is a mix of old wooden desks and stacks of paper that never seem to get smaller. We handle a lot of coordination between the factories and the buyers, so the phones are always ringing. It is a professional environment but it is not stiff. We talk about our families and the cricket scores while we work. The air conditioning is always on because it gets so humid here by the coast. We do not have a big marketing team or anything like that; it is just us making sure the orders are filled and the quality is what it should be. Most of us have been here for years, so we have a good rhythm. It is just a steady, busy office life where we get the daily tasks finished.
