Iit Bombay

Iit Bombay has a presence here in Tansa House, specifically in Room No 401. This is a hostel building on the Powai campus in Mumbai. Working from a room like 401 is quite a unique experience because it’s a small, compact space. It’s not your typical office with a reception desk and a coffee machine. Instead, it’s a place where research and work happen in close quarters. The room looks out over the campus, and you can see the trees and the other buildings from the window. The pin code is 400076. Since it is a hostel, there is always noise from the hallways—students laughing, doors slamming, and people rushing to class. It feels very alive. We have a couple of chairs and a lot of books and electronics squeezed into the room. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped, especially when we have more than two people inside. We just make it work. We don't need a polished corporate environment to do what we do. The fan hums all day to keep the heat away, and we just keep our heads down and focus on the screens. It’s a very simple, honest way of working. No one here is trying to impress anyone with big words or fancy suits. We’re just here to get the job done in the middle of this busy academic hub.
