Idi Diamonds Private Limited

You can find us inside the Bharat Diamond Bourse in Bandra East. We are in the G Block, office BW 3010. Being part of the Bourse means we are surrounded by other diamond people all day. Idi Diamonds Private Limited is our official company name. It’s a huge complex, almost like a city of its own, but our corner is pretty modest. We spend most of our hours sitting at our desks with tweezers and magnifying glasses. It’s not a glamorous job like people think. It’s a lot of staring at tiny flaws and sorting through parcels. The security in the building is tight, so getting in and out takes a bit of time. We don't have any flashy signs or posters. Our walls are mostly covered with calendars and notes. The work is steady. We handle the diamonds, we check the weight, and we talk to the other traders in the halls. It’s a very practical environment. We aren't interested in using big marketing phrases or pretending we are something we aren't. We just know diamonds and we work hard at it. Sometimes the market is slow and we just sit and wait, and other times it’s so busy we barely have time for tea. It’s just us, the stones, and the daily grind in the Bourse. We like the routine of it and being in the middle of BKC.
