Husain Kasam Mukadam & Sons

Our family has been running Husain Kasam Mukadam & Sons for quite some time now. We are located in Room No 12 of the Shree Krishna Bhav Masjid area in Ganesh Nagar. It’s right near Loha Bhavan, so you’ll see a lot of industrial stuff around here. We work out of a modest space. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows each other’s names. We deal with various goods, mostly things that local businesses or builders need. It’s not a shiny showroom. There’s dust from the road and the sound of trucks nearby most of the day. My sons and I handle the orders ourselves. We don't have a big team of assistants. If the phone rings, one of us picks it up. We do our own heavy lifting too. The neighborhood is mostly working-class people, so we try to keep our prices fair for everyone. Sometimes we sit outside on the steps when things are slow and watch the traffic go by. It’s a good spot because of the mosque nearby, it brings a lot of peace to the area even with all the business going on. We don’t use computers for everything, a lot is still written down in ledgers. It’s how we’ve always done it. We just focus on getting the orders right and making sure the customers are happy when they leave. We try to stay humble and keep the legacy of the name going.
