Down in Sahar, near the 400059 area, things move a lot faster than in other parts of Mumbai. Our company, Hotel Leelaventure Ltd., operates the Leela Kempinski right here. Since we are so close to the airport, there is always the sound of planes taking off or landing in the distance. You get used to it after a couple of days. The area is always crowded with taxis and people rushing to catch flights. Inside the property, we have a lot of grounds to look after. It takes a whole team of us just to keep the greenery looking decent in the humidity. We aren't just a small guesthouse; it’s a big operation, but we try to keep a bit of a personal touch where we can. Most of us who work here live in the surrounding neighborhoods, so we know the shortcuts through the Sahar traffic. The building is quite large and has been a landmark in this part of town for a long time. There is always something that needs fixing or painting because the salt air from the coast can be tough on the exterior. We just keep at it, day in and day out. It’s a busy life working at a place this size, but it keeps us on our toes. We don't have much time for fancy talk, we just focus on getting the work done and keeping the place running smoothly.
