Hotel Karan Palace

Hotel Karan Palace is tucked into Plot No. 8 on Sonawala Road in Goregaon East. It’s a busy industrial and commercial stretch, so there is always a lot of activity right outside our door. We mostly see people who are here for work at the nearby centers or folks who need a spot that isn't too far from the station. The building is a bit of a squeeze, like most things in Mumbai, but we make it work. It’s not the kind of place where you’d spend all day lounging around; it’s more of a base for when you’re out doing stuff. We have a small crew that handles everything from the front desk to the cleaning. Sometimes the traffic on Sonawala Road gets backed up and you can hear the horns all the way up in the rooms, but that’s just life in Goregaon. The rooms are basic, with the usual furniture and a TV that might have a few fuzzy channels. We spend our mornings getting the laundry done and making sure the water tanks are full. It is an honest, no-frills kind of setup. People come here because it is where they need to be for their jobs. We don't have any fancy lobby or big decorations, just a desk and some keys and a place to put your bags. It’s just us doing what we can to keep the rooms ready every single day.
