You’ll find us at 44 Proctor Road, which is just tucked off the main Lamington Road. If you know Mumbai, you know Lamington Road is where you go for every electronic part imaginable, so it’s always crowded and loud with people bargaining. Our little street is a bit narrower and can get quite jammed with parked bikes and delivery carts. The building is an old one, typical of this part of South Mumbai, with high ceilings and those heavy doors. We don't have a lot of modern amenities because the structure just doesn't allow for it, but we keep things functional. The lift can be a bit temperamental sometimes, so we tell people to be patient with it. We have a small crew of staff who basically live here, so there’s always someone around if you need anything at odd hours. The rooms are basic, just a place to keep your bags and sleep while you are out in the city. We spend a lot of time dealing with the salt air and the monsoon rains, which really take a toll on the paint and the wood. We don't pretend to be anything other than a budget spot in an old neighborhood. It’s a bit of a maze getting here if it’s your first time, but once you find us, it’s a straightforward stay. We just focus on keeping the place clean and making sure everyone has what they need.
