Hotel Chinese Spot

Hotel Chinese Spot is a small place located in Worli West on G K Marg. It’s an area with a lot of big office buildings and busy people, but our spot is quite humble. We have a kitchen that stays busy from late morning until well into the night. You can hear the sound of the metal spoons hitting the woks through the partition. We have a few tables squeezed into the space we have, and the lighting is just some simple tube lights on the ceiling. It gets quite warm in here when all the burners are going at once, so we keep the door open to catch whatever breeze comes off G K Marg. We don’t do anything fancy with the presentation; the food comes out on plain white plates or in plastic containers for the people who are taking it back to their desks. The staff consists of just a couple of us in the back and one person handling the cash and the phone. We get a lot of phone calls for delivery, and sometimes it gets a bit chaotic trying to write down addresses while the stir-fry is sizzling. It’s a local joint for people who want something quick and hot. We don’t have a big sign or anything flashy, just the name on the door and the smell of food that lets people know we’re there in Worli. Anyway, it’s just how things are for us every day.
