Hindustan Surgicals

Our place is at number 15 in the Kohinoor Apartments. It’s right on the Jogeshwari Station Road so you can hear the trains passing by all day long. Being in Jogeshwari West means there is always a crowd outside the door. Hindustan Surgicals isn't a shop with a big window display. It’s more of an office and storage spot where we keep all the equipment. We have boxes of surgical supplies stacked up in the rooms. Sometimes it feels more like a warehouse than an apartment. We spend a lot of time packing boxes and taping them up for delivery. The tape dispenser makes that loud ripping sound that echoes in the hallway. We have a big desk where we do all the billing and the computer is a bit slow sometimes. The neighbors are mostly families so we try not to be too loud when we are moving the heavy crates. It’s a bit of a walk from the station but not too bad if you don't have much to carry. Most of our work is just keeping track of what goes out to the clinics and hospitals nearby. We have a small kitchen area where we make coffee and talk about the day. It’s a simple setup but it works for what we need to do. The floor is concrete and we have some rugs down to stop it from being too cold.
