Hindustan Dorr Oliver

Our place is right here at Government Colony in Hajiali. It's a busy part of Mumbai, as most people know. You can see the traffic moving towards the sea from some of our windows. We've been at this address for a while now, 1/25 to be exact. It’s not a fancy glass building or anything like that. It’s a practical space where we handle our daily work. Most of the time, the fans are humming and people are busy with papers or on their phones. We have some tea stalls nearby where we usually go for a quick break in the afternoon. The salt air from the coast sometimes drifts in, which is nice when it’s not too hot. Finding the place can be a bit tricky if you aren't familiar with the colony layouts here, but we’re tucked in pretty well. We don't really do big meetings with coffee machines and suits. It’s more about sitting down and getting through the tasks we have for the day. Sometimes the rains make it hard to get here, but we manage. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. Some new buildings went up, but our little corner remains mostly the same. It’s just us doing what we need to do in the middle of Mumbai’s constant rush. We like it here because it feels like a real part of the city, not some isolated office park.
