Up on the sixth floor of Alpine Apartment in Chembur, you’ll find us. Prafulla Ranjan is the one looking after things here for Hindustan Dorr Oliver Limited. It’s a bit different being in an apartment building, but it suits us just fine. We’re right near the old Basant Theatre, which is a good landmark if you’re trying to find the place. Mumbai is a fast city, but inside 601, we try to keep things a bit more focused. It’s mostly desks and files and a couple of computers. We don’t have a big lobby or a receptionist. If someone knocks, one of us just goes to the door. We handle a lot of the coordination from here. It gets a bit noisy with the Chembur traffic outside, but you get used to that living in Mumbai. We’ve been in this spot for some time. It’s a practical setup for the kind of work we do. We don't bother with those big corporate meetings. We just talk across the room to get things sorted. It’s a tight-knit group here. We know the neighbors and the local shops nearby. Sometimes we grab tea from the stall downstairs. It’s a regular life, just working through the tasks that come our way. If you need us, Chembur 74 is the place where we keep things running. It's just a regular office in a regular building.
