Himalaya Carriers

Himalaya Carriers is situated over on P D Mello Road. We are in the Kashiram Jamnadas Building, on the 1st floor, suites 101 and 102. That area of Govind Pura and Mani Majra is pretty intense with all the port traffic and the big trailers moving through. You can hear the city moving outside our windows all day long. P D Mello Road is the kind of place where you have to be quick or you get left behind. Our building has that old Mumbai feel to it, thick walls and a lot of history. We spend our time managing the carrier side of things, which means lots of schedules and talking to folks who are on the move. It’s a bit of a maze inside the building sometimes, but we’ve made ourselves at home on the first floor. There is always someone coming in with a delivery note or someone leaving to check on a load. It’s a lot of standing around and then suddenly everything happens at once. We don't have a lot of time for sitting around. The work is steady and it keeps the lights on. It’s just how it is working in the heart of the transport district near the docks. Sometimes the tea man comes around and that is the best part of the hour. We just keep our heads down and get the cargo moving.
