Hima Dyechem Corporation

Hima Dyechem Corporation is located on the second floor at 232 Samuel Street. It’s right above the State Bank of Bikaner. If you know Masjid Bunder, you know how crowded it gets around here. The stairs up to the office are a bit narrow and steep, so you have to watch your step every time you come up. We’ve been in this spot for years. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we never seem to find the time or the energy to get around to it. There is always someone shouting down on the street or a cart being pushed past. It’s the kind of place where you know all your neighbors by their first names and they know you too. We keep the windows shut mostly because of the humidity and the noise, but the light still comes through the glass. Our desks are old wood and they have marks from years of use. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a few minutes in the afternoon, so we just sit and talk until it comes back on. It’s not a quiet office, that’s for sure. A small kettle in the corner is there for making coffee or tea. Most of the files are kept in these big metal cabinets that groan when you open them. It feels like a real workspace, not one of those glass buildings you see in the movies. Just a regular day here involves a lot of phone calls and checking various ledgers until evening.
