We’ve been tucked away in the Sakar Opera House for a while now. If you know the area near Kennedy Bridge, you know it gets pretty busy around here. Our spot is at 202, up on the second floor. It's not a fancy place, just where we do our daily work. Some days the traffic outside is just too much, but we like being in this part of town. The building is old and has its quirks, like the windows that don't quite close all the way. We spend most of our time at the benches or looking through the glass at the street below. There are a lot of offices around here, so it never feels quiet. We’ve got the 39 Kennedy Bridge address on all our mail, and sometimes delivery guys get lost trying to find the right entrance. It’s part of the charm, I guess. We keep a small staff and just focus on the jewelry side of things. It’s a lot of sitting and looking at small pieces under the light. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that. Just a door with the name Hemarupa Jewels on it and some desks inside. Sometimes the elevator acts up, so we take the stairs. It’s good exercise anyway. People who come to see us usually call first because the Sakar building can be a maze if you aren't used to it. We just keep our heads down and get the work done. The tea guy comes by at four and that’s the highlight of our afternoon.
