Hema Exports

We are located at 32-1-18 (A) on South Street, and it is a busy little spot to be in. The building is tucked into a row of other shops and houses, so you really have to look for the number to find us. Hema Exports is basically just a few rooms where we manage all the shipping and receiving. There are usually stacks of boxes waiting by the door and the smell of packing tape is pretty constant. We don’t have any big fancy displays because most of what we do is about getting things from one place to another. The street outside can get pretty crowded, especially in the mornings when everyone is starting their day. We spend a lot of time double-checking lists and making sure the labels are on right. It is a small team here, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, whether it is answering the phone or hauling a crate. We have a small kettle in the back for tea, which is where we usually take our breaks during the afternoon. The walls are a bit bare, maybe just a calendar and some notes pinned up. It’s not the kind of place you come to see a show, it’s just where we get our work done. We’ve been on South Street for a while and we like the pace of it. It’s a lot of manual work and keeping track of details, but it keeps us busy every day.
