Our shop, Hazi Abdul Hasan Auto Parts, is located at number 38 on C S T Road in Kurla West. This part of Kurla is always moving, with cars and bikes constantly passing by outside. The shop is full of shelves packed with various engine parts and components. There’s usually a bit of grease on the floor and the counters, which is hard to avoid in this line of work. We have a small area in the back where we keep the heavier items like axles and gearboxes. Most of the time, we are busy helping people find exactly what they need for their vehicles. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting boxes and checking part numbers. The sun hits the front of the shop in the afternoon, so it can get quite warm inside. We have a couple of stools for customers to sit on while they wait. We’ve been on C S T Road for years, and we know many of the mechanics who work in the surrounding lanes. The noise from the traffic is constant, but you stop noticing it after the first hour of the day. We don't bother with fancy displays. The parts are organized in a way that makes sense to us, even if it looks a bit messy to anyone else. We just focus on digging through the piles to find whatever the customer is looking for. When it rains, we have to pull the shutter down halfway to keep the water from blowing in.
