Hafiz Impex

Hafiz Impex operates out of office 301-B in the Jasmine Apartment building. We are right on 65-B, Dockyard Road in Mazgaon. Being so close to the docks means there is always a lot of movement. You can hear the ships and the cranes, and the whole area has that heavy industrial feel of Mumbai’s waterfront. We handle a lot of import and export stuff, so our desks are usually piled high with shipping documents and customs forms. The office isn't very big, but we make it work. It can get pretty humid in the summer, and the stairs up to the third floor feel a lot longer on those hot days. We spend a lot of time talking to vendors and checking on cargo. It is the kind of job where things are always changing because of some delay at the port or a change in schedules. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of employees. It is just a few of us here making sure the goods move from one place to another. Mazgaon is an old part of the city, and you can see that in the buildings around us. We have been working from this spot for some time now and we know the rhythms of the dockyard pretty well. It is busy, it is often messy, and there is always something that needs to be sorted out urgently, but we just keep at it.
