You can find Habib Bhai Company right in the middle of the Byculla Fruit Market. We are located at Palthan F 5. If you have ever been to the Byculla market, you know it is a place that starts moving long before the sun is even up. We are usually there in the dark, getting things ready for when the trucks arrive with the fresh loads. It is a loud, chaotic, and very energetic environment to work in every single day. There are smells of all kinds of fruits in the air, depending on what the season is. Our spot at F 5 isn't very big, so we have to be quick with how we move things around to make space. We don't have fancy desks or chairs; we mostly stand or sit on crates while we talk to people and handle the daily trade. It is a life lived in the market, following the seasons and the prices that change every single day without fail. Byculla has a lot of history, and the fruit market is like its own little world within the city that never sleeps. We know most of the other sellers around us, and there is a lot of shouting and haggling that goes on from morning till noon. Once the main rush is over, we spend our time cleaning up and preparing for the next day. It is hard work on your feet, but it is what we have always done in Palthan.
