Our shop is on the first floor at 37/6 Dhobi Street, right in the middle of Chakla Market. If you know the market, you know how crowded it gets with vendors and shoppers every single day. Getting things up to the first floor can be a real struggle because the stairs are narrow and steep. We’ve spent many hours carrying heavy bundles up and down those steps. The office itself is just one main room where we handle all the trading and paperwork. There isn't much space for anything other than the essentials—desks, a couple of chairs, and lots of stock piled up against the walls. We spend our mornings talking to suppliers and the afternoons dealing with the people who come in to buy. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit, but it keeps the air moving during the humid days. We don't use a lot of fancy technology, mostly just a phone and a notebook to keep track of who owes what. It’s a traditional way of doing business that hasn't changed much since we started. The noise from Dhobi Street below never really stops, so you have to talk a bit louder to be heard. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who have known each other for a long time. It’s a simple life of buying and selling in a place that’s always full of energy and people.
