Andheri East is a place that never really stops moving, and being over here in Anand Nagar at Unit No 16 A, we’re right in the thick of it. Gulshan Rubber Industries is tucked away in the New Empire Indus area, which is exactly what you’d expect from a place like this. It’s noisy, there’s always a truck backing up somewhere, and the air smells like hard work and machinery. We spend our days dealing with rubber products, mostly just focusing on getting the orders right and making sure the machines are running like they’re supposed to. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know. The walls of the unit have seen a lot of years, and they’ve got the marks to prove it. We don’t have any fancy signs or a big lobby. People usually just find us because they need something specific and they know we’re here. Working in an industrial estate means you get to know the neighbors, mostly by the sounds of their shops. You hear the clanking and the shouting all day long. By the time evening rolls around and the traffic starts piling up outside on the main road, we’re usually just finishing up the last of the paperwork. It’s a steady routine. We show up, we do the work, and we try to keep things organized in a place that’s always a little bit chaotic. We’re not fancy, just reliable and used to the grind of the industrial life.
