G. S. Bangles

G. S. Bangles is located at No. 71 Lamington Road, near the Grant Road area. If you know Mumbai, you know Lamington Road is famous for electronics, but we’ve got our own little niche here with bangles. Our shop is small but it is packed with every color of bangle you can imagine. They are stacked up on shelves and in boxes everywhere. It’s a bit delicate because, well, bangles can break, so we have to be careful how we move around. The shop has been in the same spot for a long time. It’s got that old-school feel where the walls are a bit stained and the floor is worn from years of people coming in. We don’t have any fancy air conditioning, just a couple of old ceiling fans that buzz while they spin. We spend our time helping people find the right size and color for whatever occasion they have coming up. It’s a simple business. We don’t have a mission statement or anything like that. We just like bangles and we like being part of the Grant Road community. Some days are slow and we just sit by the door watching the traffic go by on Lamington Road, and other days it’s so busy we can barely keep up. It’s a good life, even if it’s a bit dusty and crowded in here. We keep things basic and just focus on the people who come into our store.
