We are located at Shop No 17 in the Hindustan Chamber building. If you know the Kalbadevi area, we are right on Centre Street near Bhoplechowk. It is a very crowded part of the city, especially being opposite Badam Wadi where there is always someone moving something. Our shop is a bit small, but we have been here for a long time and know how to fit everything in. We handle different kinds of goods and supplies that people in the market need. Most of our customers are other local traders or people who have been coming to this area for decades. It is a very traditional way of doing business. We don't have a website or any of those modern things. We just stay behind the counter and wait for people to come in with their lists. Sometimes the monsoon makes it hard to get stock into the building because the lanes get so narrow and wet. We just deal with it. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting boxes and checking inventory by hand. The morning starts with a cup of tea and opening the heavy shutters. You get to know all the other shopkeepers around here, and it feels like a small community. We just keep things simple and try to be honest about what we have in stock. It is a busy life in Kalbadevi, but we are quite used to the noise.
