Goswami Mobile Service Center

Goswami Mobile Service Center is right here on Colaba Paud Road 58. It’s a small shop, mostly filled with tools, tiny screwdrivers, and boxes of spare parts for all kinds of phones. I’ve been sitting behind this same counter for a long time now. People come in with cracked screens or phones that won't turn on after they accidentally dropped them in water. It happens a lot more than you’d think. Sometimes the shop gets a bit cluttered because there are so many devices waiting for parts to arrive from the suppliers. We don't have fancy displays or those bright, blinding lights you see in the big mobile stores at the malls. It’s just a practical, honest space for fixing things that are broken. The road outside is always busy, so there’s constant noise from the cars and bikes passing by all day. Most of our customers are locals who live nearby or work in the other shops around here. They know us by name, and we often know which phone belongs to who without even looking at the stickers. We try to be very direct about whether a phone is actually worth fixing or if it’s just better to get a new one. Parts come and go, and prices change every week, but we stay right at the same spot. It’s a lot of sitting and looking at tiny screws all day. My eyes get pretty tired by the evening, but that’s just the job.
