Godrej Memorial Hospital

Godrej Memorial Hospital is located in Pirojsha Nagar, over in Vikroli East. This whole area is quite unique because of all the trees and the way the colony is laid out. It feels a bit different from the rest of Mumbai because it’s not just concrete everywhere. The hospital has been a part of the Pirojsha Nagar landscape for many years, and many of the people who work in the nearby factories or live in the residential blocks come here. It’s a fairly large place, but it doesn't feel like a cold institution. There are different wings and departments, and it can be a bit of a walk to get from one side to the other. We have a lot of staff members who have lived in Vikroli for a long time, so there’s a strong sense of community. The lobby is usually busy with families and people waiting for appointments. It’s a practical hospital that deals with a lot of different things every day. We don't have those fancy coffee shops you see in the new private hospitals, but we have what’s needed. The windows look out onto the greenery, which is a nice change from the traffic outside. We just focus on our daily tasks, keeping the equipment running and making sure the patients are getting the attention they need. It’s a busy, working hospital that’s been serving this part of the East for a long time now.
