Global Hospitals

Being right here across from Shirodkar Hospitals in Parel means there is always something going on. It’s a medical hub, really. If you stand on the street for five minutes, you’ll see ten ambulances and a hundred people looking for different clinics. Our building is right in the thick of it. Inside Global Hospitals, it’s usually a bit of a maze. We’ve got different departments tucked away in different corners. The reception desk is always covered in papers and files. Sometimes I think we need more space, but we make do with what we have. The staff here has been together for a long time, so we know each other’s moods. When the afternoon slump hits, someone usually goes out to get snacks for everyone. It’s the little things that keep the place going. Patients come in from all over Mumbai, and sometimes from outside the city too. They look tired, and honestly, we are often tired too. It’s hard work, no two ways about it. We don't have those fancy glass walls or expensive art. It’s just a hospital. We fix what we can, help who we can, and keep the floors mopped. The traffic outside never really stops, so there is always a low hum of engines in the background while we work. It becomes like white noise after a while. You just get used to the Parel rhythm. Sometimes people get lost looking for the entrance, so we help them out.
