Our shop is located on T.V. Chidambaram Road in Sion East. It is an old building, number 39/44. We do engineering work here, mostly mechanical stuff that requires a lot of attention. It is noisy and there is always grease on someone’s hands by noon. We have been in this part of Mumbai for quite some time now. The neighborhood has changed a lot since we started, but we stay busy with the same kind of projects. It is not glamorous work by any means. We spend a lot of time looking at drawings and working with the machines out back. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend the whole day fixing them instead of doing the actual job we planned. That is just part of the trade we are in. We have a small crew and everyone knows what they are supposed to do. We do not have a big office or a receptionist to greet you. If you come by to visit, you will probably find us on the shop floor working. We deal with various metal parts and custom jobs for local clients. It takes a lot of patience to get the measurements exactly right. We have had some long nights when a deadline is close. It is just us doing what we know how to do. Sion East is a decent place to be based for this kind of work. (246 words)
