We are located at Gala 11 in the Highway Commerce Center over in Goregaon East. It's right behind that HP petrol pump, which is actually pretty convenient because our trucks can fuel up before they head out on long trips. This place is mostly just a warehouse area and a small office space where we try to track where every package is at any given moment. The highway is right there, so the constant hum of the traffic is something we’ve just gotten used to over the years. We deal with a lot of different kinds of cargo. Some days it is just small boxes and other days we have huge wooden crates taking up all the floor space until the drivers arrive. It is a lot of loading and unloading in the heat. We start our day pretty early, usually before the sun is even fully up, just to beat the worst of the Mumbai traffic jams. The office gets a bit warm in the afternoons, but we have a couple of old fans going to keep the air moving. It is definitely not a corporate setup. We wear our everyday clothes and drink a lot of chai to keep our energy up. Everyone here knows their job well. We don’t have big meetings; we just look at the manifest and get to work. Sometimes the monsoon rains slow everything down, but we do our best to keep the goods dry under the tarps.
