Walmark Garments Company

We are based at No. 18/9 Chirag Nagar, right off LBS Road in Ghatkopar West. Walmark Garments Company has been part of this neighborhood for quite a while. The building is a typical Ghatkopar structure, a bit worn on the outside but full of activity inside. We spend our days surrounded by piles of cloth and the constant hum of sewing machines. LBS Road is right there, so there is never any silence. We get used to the noise of the traffic after a while. Our work isn't fancy. We take large pieces of fabric and turn them into finished garments. There are several of us working in the main room, and it gets a bit cramped when a new shipment of material arrives. We don't have any high-tech gadgets, just reliable machines and people who know how to use them. The tea break is the highlight of the afternoon when we all stop for ten minutes. It’s a simple operation. We don't have a big HR department or corporate meetings. We just talk about what needs to be finished by Friday and get on with it. Working in Chirag Nagar means we are close to the markets, which helps. It is a humble place, but it’s where we spend most of our lives, and we are fine with that.
