You can find us at Unit No. 6 in the New Ramnivas building on Navro Jilane in Ghatkopar West. The lane is usually quite busy with scooters and people walking to the station. Our unit is on the ground floor, which makes it easier for when we have to move boxes or samples around. The space inside is mostly filled with metal cupboards where we keep all our records. We’ve been here for several years, so the neighborhood feels like home to us. There is a guy who sells snacks just outside the building and we usually end up buying something from him every afternoon. The work we do is mostly about coordinating shipments and making sure the customs papers are in order. It’s a lot of back-and-forth on the phone. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit and talk until it comes back on. We aren't the kind of place that has a receptionist or a waiting room. If you come by, you’ll just see us sitting at our desks with a bunch of folders open. It’s a bit messy at times, but we know where everything is. We don't use any fancy management systems, just our notebooks and the computer. It’s a simple way of doing business and it works for us. We just try to get through the day’s tasks. There is always more paperwork to deal with tomorrow, so we stay focused.
