You’ll find us at D-125 in the Ghatkopar Industrial Estate. We’re right off L.B.S. Marg in Ghatkopar West. It’s a big estate with a lot of different units, so it can be a bit confusing if you’re coming here for the first time. We’ve been in this unit for Jay Concast Corporation for many years now. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re more focused on the work we do with casting and metal. There’s always a bit of a smell of grease and iron in the air here. That’s just the way it is in an industrial area like this one. We have machines running most of the day. It’s loud, and you have to raise your voice to be heard over the hum. We’re not a big corporation with people in suits. We’re usually in our work clothes, dealing with the daily production schedules and the heat. Sometimes the power goes out or a machine needs a part replaced, and that slows us down, but we always find a way to get the orders finished on time. L.B.S. Marg is always packed with trucks, so getting stuff in and out takes some careful planning. We know most of the other guys in the estate. We grab tea from the same stall every morning. It’s a straightforward business. We take the raw materials and turn them into what’s needed. It’s repetitive, heavy work, but it’s what we know best. We don't bother with much else besides the jobs.
