Gem Chemie Industries is tucked away on the second floor of Mansoor Building. We’re right in the middle of the Iron Market at Marine Lines, which is always a bit chaotic and loud. Number 98 is the spot. If you climb the stairs, you’ll find us. The office is a bit cramped because we have so many files and chemical samples everywhere. It’s an old building, but it works for what we do. Dealing with chemicals means a lot of paperwork and making sure everything matches up for the customers. We don’t have a flashy sign outside to attract attention. Most of our visitors are people we’ve known for years. The Iron Market area is loud and there's always someone shouting or a truck backing up outside the window. We’ve grown used to the noise over the years. We’re just a small crew here. My desk is usually a mess of pens and notes I’ve scribbled to myself. We don’t go in for big meetings; we just talk across the room to get things sorted. It’s a bit hot in the summer because the windows are old, but we make do with the fans. People find us because they need specific stuff for their factories. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It’s not a glamorous spot, but Mansoor Building has been our home for a long time now and we like it that way.
