Our shop is located down in the Ganga Mai MIDC area of Ambad, right in the middle of all the other industrial sheds. It stays pretty loud around here with the sounds of lathes and milling machines running all day. We’ve been in Nashik for quite a few years and the weather here is usually decent, though the monsoon makes the shop floor a bit damp. We do a lot of mechanical work, mostly stuff that other people find too annoying or complicated to fix themselves. It’s a lot of metal shavings and the smell of cutting oil. Sometimes the power goes out in the MIDC and we all just sit around having tea until it comes back on. Our desks are covered in old drawings and half-finished parts. We aren't really the type to wear suits or have big meetings. Usually, if a customer needs something, they just walk into the shed and show us what’s broken. We take a look, see if we can weld it or machine a new piece, and go from there. It’s basic work but it keeps things moving for the factories around us. The road outside is always full of trucks and tempos, so getting deliveries in can take a bit of time. We just keep our heads down and get the parts finished. It’s what we do every day. There is always more metal to cut.
