Finding us at 51/53 Ajay Building can be a bit of a trick if you aren't used to Zaveri Bazar. We are up on the first floor. Shamseth Street is always crowded, so you have to push through the crowds to get to the stairs. Inside Fusia Fashion Jewellery, it’s a lot quieter, though we’re usually busy sorting through small beads and metal pieces. We spend hours looking at tiny things under bright lights. It’s not a big showroom with velvet curtains. It’s more like a workshop where things get put together and packed into boxes. My hands are usually a bit tired by the end of the day from handling all the small clasps. We see a lot of people coming in and out of the building all day long. Sometimes the lift doesn't work right, so we use the stairs a lot. We just focus on getting the orders ready for the shops. It’s a lot of counting and checking. Zaveri Bazar has a certain energy that keeps you going, even when it’s hot and the street is noisy. We’ve been in this spot for a while now. It’s just us and the jewelry. No big speeches or fancy talk, just daily work in a busy part of town. We keep the lights on and keep moving through the stock. That is how most days go for us here.
