Everest Tools & Dies

Our workshop is tucked away in the Ashirwad Indl Estate on Jain Derasar Road. If you know Goregaon West, you know it gets pretty crowded around here. Everest Tools & Dies has been operating out of 149/5 for quite some time now. It’s an industrial estate, so there’s always the sound of machines humming or someone banging on metal nearby. It’s not the quietest place to work, but it feels right for what we do. We make tools and dies, which is basically just a lot of precision work and getting our hands dirty. The road outside can be a mess during the monsoon, with all the puddles and the traffic slowing down to a crawl. But inside, we just keep the lights on and stay focused on whatever is on the workbench. It’s a busy life. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in Mumbai; we just want to get the orders done right for the people who rely on us. Most of our neighbors in the estate are doing similar stuff, so we all kind of look out for each other. Sometimes the power goes out and we all end up standing on the street talking until it comes back. It’s a simple way to live and work. We don’t have a fancy showroom. It’s just a place where things get built and we enjoy the process of making things that actually work.
