Our shop is at 173 Mutton Street, right in the heart of the bazaar. It’s a very old building and the street outside is almost always crowded with people, carts, and noise. We’ve been here for generations, and the shop feels like it has a lot of history in its walls. The wooden counters are worn smooth from years of use, and we still have some of the old shelving that was put in decades ago. It’s a narrow space, so we have to stack things high up towards the ceiling. You can hear the calls of the street vendors and the honking of bikes all day long. We know most of the other shopkeepers around here. It’s a tight-knit community in the bazaar. Customers come in looking for all sorts of things, and we do our best to find what they need in the stacks. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use flashlights, but we just keep going. It’s a busy way to live, but we wouldn’t know what to do with ourselves in a quiet office. There’s always someone stopping by for a chat or to ask a question. We keep our ledgers and handle our business the way we always have. It’s not modern and it’s definitely not polished, but it’s our home. Mutton Street has a life of its own, and we’re just a small part of it.
