Electronic Telecommunication Engineer

We are located at Haji Kasam Compound on D`Lima Street. Our place is Room No 2, right near Dockyard Road in Mumbai 400010. Electronic Telecommunication Engineer is the name on the paperwork but mostly we are just the guys in the compound. It is a busy part of the city and there is always noise from the docks and the street. The room is small and we have to be careful how we stack things so we still have space to sit. Mumbai is a fast place but inside Room No 2 things move a bit slower as we look at different telecommunication setups. It is dusty and sometimes it gets very hot in the afternoons. We have been here for years and the compound feels like a community. You see the same people every morning when you arrive at D`Lima Street. We don’t have a fancy office with air conditioning or soft chairs. We have wooden stools and workbenches that have seen better days. It is a hands-on job and our hands are usually a bit dirty by the end of the shift. Electronic Telecommunication Engineer is just what we do. We don't talk much about goals or visions. We just look at the boards and the wires and try to fix what is broken. It is a tight space but it is ours and it works for what we need to do every day. We just keep our heads down and stay busy with the work.
